| Neil has
a passion for diving which shows in the way he teaches,
calm, practical and humorous, he passes on a depth of
knowledge gained in a quarter of a century of diving in some
of the most hostile environments on the planet. He draws on
this experience to assist divers to assess their current
skills and develop new ones as they move into technical
diving. Neil's
approach is to let divers progress at the rate that suits
them - each course/exercise is a building block for the
future so from the first Advanced Nitrox course to Advanced
Trimix, skills are developed and built on. There is no place
for a 'turn up - pay and leave with a ticket' attitude with
this level of diving. Careful training is essential and
qualifications are awarded to students who demonstrate the
skills and ability to dive to the course satndards.
For example, Neil’s
popular TDI O2 Service Technician Course is held over 3 days
in his comprehensive workshop. It is a very much ‘hands on’
course – not just talking and looking at pictures of
regulators you get to take them apart (and hopefully put
them back together again!).
We probably service more regulators than any other dive shop
in Wales, with factory support from Apeks, Posiedon, Atomic,
Beuchat, Scubapro, Mares, Oceanic, Cressi Sub, AGA, Ocean
Reef, Dive Rite, UWATEC, Suunto, Delta P, AP Valves, we are
also able to service Kirby Morgan band masks and helmets.
Neil’s message to you
as you push your boundaries of depth and knowledge is
"choose your instructor carefully". Ask questions – how
experienced is the instructor, where do they do the bulk of
their diving? Are they too busy ‘talking the talk’ to
actually ‘dive the dives’.
Nowadays, Neil is most often to be found lounging on the
deck of Ian Taylor’s boat ‘Skin Deep’ diving mid-channel
wrecks.
